Have you ever played Wordle before? If you’ve mastered this puzzle game and want an interesting twist, Wordle Sketch hits the right spot! This can be considered a reverse version of Wordle, where you—the player—will create your own puzzle.
But how? This game requires a bit of sketching, as its name implies. You need to draw a picture using colors so the computer can generate a list of words based on your sketch. Don’t worry! You don’t have to be a talented artist to craft that picture. Keep reading to see how to play!
First, you will see a 5x6 grid like in Wordle. All tiles are colored gray. Now, let your creativity run wild and add a splash of color to the grid! Your job is to paint each tile in gray, yellow, or green. Keep in mind the meanings of each hue:
Select the dots on the right side to change the color. Then, click on the tile you want to color it. Just draw it the way you like without considering the secret word.
After coloring the 5x6 grid, think of a solution word of the day. It must be a valid 5-letter English word. Once you click on “Find words,” the system will fill the grid with 6 valid words that match the color of each tile. You can choose “Reset tiles” to clear the colors and start again.
The game might not bring a strong sense of competition or victory. Still, this is a good way to learn vocabulary when the system gives you a list of 5-letter words after you paint the grid.
Don’t mind the solution word; instead, just enjoy drawing the picture however you like. No advanced skills or critical thinking are required; it’s perfect for relaxing and releasing stress.
Another benefit of playing Wordle Sketch is that the words the game gives you might appear in Wordle in one way or another. So, you can jot them down for references when playing Wordle.
